Tim Minturn

Originally from New Zealand, Tim Minturn‘s graduation from the Western Australia Academy of Performing Arts in 1995 marked a culmination of many years of dancing, singing and acting training.

Career highlights include the New Zealand tour of CinderellaThe Sound of Music, Disney Live!, Perform Educational Musicals, the world premiere of

The Boy from Oz and the original Australian cast of Sunset Boulevard.

He furthered his training with Michael Saccente from the Neighbourhood Playhouse in the Meisner Technique.  


Tim was diagnosed with brain cancer in 1999, and during his recovery, Tim moved into arts education, administration and event coordinating. Tim trained in secondary drama teaching at the university of New England and taught drama for both public schools and companies such as The Performance.net, the Michelle Slater Performing Arts school and The Artz Collective. He also went on to combine his performance and teaching skills to produce the Education Program at the Arts Centre in Auckland (THE EDGE - now 'Auckland Live!') and later was the company manager of Echelon Productions in Melbourne.

As a director and choreographer he has worked with the likes of MSPS and Perform Education in Australia, and the 'Janice Webb presents SING' concert series and Auckland Music Theatre Company in New Zealand.

Tim has also performed in OSMaD’s Les Miserables, CLOC’s The Drowsy Chaperone and their non-professional world premier of The Phantom of the Opera.
